Education Classes
The purpose of this program is to prevent foodborne illness due to
lack of operator knowledge. The Center for Disease Control estimates
that 75 million people in the U.S. each year are sickened by foodborne
illness, including approximately 323,000 people hospitalized and 5,000
deaths. One of the major causes of foodborne illness is the level of
food worker knowledge.
The Calhoun County Public Health Department offers several classes
intended to provide food service workers with the knowledge needed to
operate a safe and sanitary food service operation.
