Mr. Martin inquired if the Director and Service Officer were checking to see if serviced veterans were represented by service organizations for federal claims work. The Director stated that routine checks were made on a consistent basis for service organization representation. Mr. Martin stated that he received information stipulating that the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Disabled American Veterans service organizations out of Detroit lost veterans representation to the Military Order of the Purple Heart through the Calhoun County Veterans Affairs office. The Director stated that he did not recall switching representation from one organization to another organization. The Director asked Mr. Martin if he could provide the names of the veterans whose service organization representation was changed. Mr. Martin stated that he would investigate.

The Director informed the Committee that Mr. Todd Kaminski was, in fact, reappointed to the Veterans Affairs Committee by the Board of Commissioners.

Mr. Savage informed the Committee that he will soon begin gather information pertaining to securing special millage funding for the office.

Meeting adjourned at 11:00 A.M.
