Welcome to the Calhoun County Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Portal.
The portal was created to help quickly and easily locate the GIS maps and products currently available.
What is GIS?
A Geographic Information System is an organized collection of computer hardware, software, geographic data, and personnel designed to efficiently capture, store, update, manipulate, analyze, and display all forms of geographically referenced information. GIS uses computer software to link geographic information (where things are) with descriptive information (what things are). Unlike a flat paper map, where "what you see is what you get", GIS can present many layers of different information.
Calhoun County is dedicated to GIS services in order to provide the county’s geographic information as a resource both to county staff as well as the public at large.
