Enbridge has filed an application for the replacement of their Line 6B pipeline throughout Michigan.

The next Road Commission Task Force meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 17th at 7:30 AM in the Board of Commissioners Meeting Room, 3rd Floor County Building @ 315 W Green St., Marshall.

Effective with the next meeting, the Road Commission Task Force meeting will be open to the Public. ​

Calhoun County will be considering an Amendment to the Address Ordinance. At its May 17, 2012, meeting, the Board of Commissioners will consider the adoption of an amended Address Ordinance. A copy of the proposed Amended Ordinance can be found on the County Website.

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA-' long term rating on Calhoun County, Mich.'s series 2012 water supply and sanitary sewage disposal system refunding bonds (Charter Township of Emmett). At the same time, Standard & Poor's affirmed its 'AA-' long-term and underlying ratings (SPUR) on the county's existing general obligation (GO) debt. The outlook on all ratings is stable.

Since the Enbridge oil spill on the Kalamazoo River in July 2010, staff at the Calhoun County Public Health Department (CCPHD) have worked with state and federal officials to evaluate the public health risks posed by the spill. As the year draws to an end, we are writing to provide you with an update related to the health and safety of our residents and community. We have found that public health concerns prompted by the Enbridge spill are greatly diminished. Public health officials base this conclusion on the analysis of environmental sampling that has been ongoing since the spill.
