Juvenile Home Detention

The Detention Program at the Calhoun County Juvenile Home provides a short-term, safe, and humane environment for detained youth pending further court action. 

What to know about the detention program: 
  • This program serves youth ages 11 to 17, who have committed a crime or violated a court order and are placed at the Juvenile Home by order of a judge or referee. 
  • The Juvenile Home is committed to a cognitive behavioral approach. 
  • A licensed therapist provides individual and group counseling. 
  • Residents particiate in a token economy system to learn appropriate behaviors. 
  • Discharge occurs only through posting of bond or by order of the Court.
