Emergency Preparedness Training

The goal is to develop and enhance emergency response plans and partnerships with public health in the community to prepare for a public health emergency due to outbreaks of infectious disease, acts of terrorism, and other public health threats and emergencies. In addition to the overall coordination, funds are provided to enhance communications and technology, improve disease surveillance, provide education and training opportunities for public health staff on various emergency preparedness issues, and improve the ability to communicate/disseminate health risk information.

Although each public health jurisdiction has its own workplan, the areas of emphasis and funding are determined by Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
